The City Attorney serves as the general counsel to the municipal corporation of the City of Statesboro. The City Attorney represents the City in litigation, drafts legal opinions and reviews matters of legal concern to the City, and supervises and works with outside counsel who represents the City. The City Attorney does not provide legal advice to the general public,

City Attorney

Cain Smith is the City Attorney for the City of Statesboro. He started as the City Attorney in December 2016. Prior to the City, he practiced law in Statesboro and served as Assistant Solicitor for Statesboro Municipal Court. Before Statesboro he practiced in Brunswick and was an Associate in law firms in Albany, GA and St Croix, USVI.
