    General Notice

    The City of Statesboro is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project:

    BID PROJECT #2022 – 614 SANITARY SEWER REHABILITATION

    Bids for the construction of the Project will be received in the office of Darren Prather, Director of Central Services, 22 W. Grady Street, Statesboro, Georgia, until 3:00 PM (Local Time) on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at which time they will be publicly opened and read in the Statesboro Municipal Court Room.

    Work to be completed under this contract will include:

    Installation of approximately 14,000 LF of 8” Cured-in-Place Pipe and all additional work required to complete the project as described in the plans and specifications.

    Owner anticipates that the project cost will be approximately $800,000.00. The project duration will be 180 days.

    Pre-bid Conference

    A mandatory pre-bid conference for the Project will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, 3:00 PM local time at the Statesboro Municipal Court Room, 22 W. Grady Street, Statesboro, Georgia. Bids will not be accepted from Bidders that do not attend the mandatory pre-bid conference.

    MINORITY AND FEMALE OWNED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE PARTICIPATION (MFBE)

    It is the intent of the City of Statesboro to encourage participation by minority and female owned business enterprises (MFBE) for all procurement processes.  The construction phase of this project shall include a minimum 20% minority or female business enterprise participation of total construction cost.  All submittals for this invitation to bid must include a statement acknowledging compliance with 20% MFBE requirement at time for submittal of sealed bids.  Upon submittal of sealed bids, pre-qualified contractors will be required to provide proof of MFBE certification (if the general/prime contractor is a certified MFBE) or provide a list of MFBE sub-contractors, identify percentage of participation by each subcontractor and proof of minority or female owned business certification for proof of compliance with this section requirement.

    The City of Statesboro reserves the right to reject any or all bids, including without limitation, the rights to reject any or all nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced or conditional bids and to reject the bid of any Bidder if the City of Statesboro believes that it would not be in the best interest of the City of Statesboro to make an award to that Bidder, whether because the bid is not responsive or the Bidder is unqualified or of doubtful financial ability or fails to meet any other pertinent standard or criteria established by the City of Statesboro.

    Obtaining the Bidding Documents

    Prospective Bidders may obtain or examine the Bidding Documents at Hussey Gay Bell, 329 Commercial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406, on Monday through Thursday between the hours of 7:30 A.M. – 5:30 P.M. local time and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents as described below. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.

    Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained by contacting gkimbrell@husseygaybell.com and paying a deposit of $150.00 for each set. Make deposit checks for Bidding Documents payable to Hussey Gay Bell & DeYoung, Inc. of Georgia.

    Bidding Documents may be purchased from Hussey Gay Bell during the hours indicated above. Cost does not include shipping charges. Upon receipt of payment, printed Bidding Documents will be sent via the prospective Bidder’s delivery service. The shipping charge amount will depend on the shipping method chosen.     Natural Gas-Aspen

     

    The City of Statesboro is soliciting for sealed bids for the natural gas system expansion in Statesboro, Georgia.  Sealed bids will be received by the City of Statesboro until Friday, October 28, 2022 at 3:00 PM EST at the office of Darren Prather, Central Services Director, located at 22 West Grady Street, Statesboro, GA 30458.

     

    A mandatory pre-bid meeting at the Central Services Department will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 10:00 AM EST.  Bidders who do not attend the mandatory pre-bid conference will not be able to submit bids.  The office is located at 22 West Grady Street, Statesboro, GA 30458.

    The City of Statesboro is obtaining bids from experienced and qualified Utility Contractors and/or General Contractors  who are interested in submitting a proposal and entering into a contract for the furnishing of material, labor, tools, skill, equipment and incidentals for the construction and installation of approximately 3,800 feet of 6” steel gas main to serve Aspen.

     

    All bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to Darren Prather, Director of Central Services and Purchasing, 22 West Grady Street, Statesboro, GA 30458 via FedEx, UPS, USPS, or hand-delivered.  Emailed bids and bids received after the designated time will not be considered.

     

    To be considered, the bid shall include a copy of the Utility Contractors License, appropriate insurance certificate and a summary list of contractor employees showing tasks and expiration dates for Operator Qualification under the current GMA OQ Plan.

  • WWTP Maintenance Shop Covered Extension

    2022-600-1 MAINTENANCE SHOP COVERED EXTENSION

     

    The City of Statesboro is requesting bid quotations for an experienced and qualified contractor to construct an open shelter addition to the existing Maintenance Shop building at the City of Statesboro’s Wastewater Treatment Facility. Sealed bids will be received by the City of Statesboro until Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 3:00 PM EST at 22 West Grady Street, Statesboro, GA 30458.  At that time, all sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.  Late bids will not be considered.

     

    A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be at the site location on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 10:00 AM EST at the City of Statesboro’s Wastewater Treatment Facility located at 302 Briarwood Road, Statesboro, GA 30458.

     

    MINORITY AND FEMALE OWNED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE (MFBE) PARTICIPATION

     

    It is the intent of the City of Statesboro to encourage participation by minority and female owned business enterprises (MFBE) for all procurement processes.  The construction phase of this project shall include a minimum 6% minority or female business enterprise participation of total construction cost.  All submittals for this invitation to bid must include a statement acknowledging compliance with a 6% MFBE requirement at the time of sealed bid submittals.  Upon submittal of sealed bids, pre-qualified contractors will be required to provide proof of MFBE certification (if the general/primary contractor is a certified MFBE) or provide a list of MFBE sub-contractors, identify percentage of participation by each subcontractor and proof of minority or female owned business certification for proof of compliance with this section requirement.

     

    The City of Statesboro reserves the right to reject any or all quotations and waive technicalities or informalities.     The proposed project will include:

     

    • Construction of Open Shelter Maintenance Shop Extension (Dimensions: 24x60x16H).
    • Frame constructed with red iron beams.
    • Structure designed to conform to 130 MPH wind speed regulations.
    • Addition to match roof gauge and grade of existing Maintenance Shop.
    • Moving existing shop gutter and downspouts and attach to new extension.
  • Joe Brannen Hall – City Hall Renovations

    Bid Project #2022-612 Joe Brannen Hall – City Hall Renovations

     

    The City of Statesboro is soliciting for sealed bid proposals for the Joe Brannen Hall and City Hall renovations for the City of Statesboro in Georgia.  Sealed bids will be received by the City of Statesboro until Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 3:00 PM EST at the office of Darren Prather, Central Services Director, located at 22 West Grady Street, Statesboro, GA 30458.

     

    There will be a mandatory pre-bid meeting at the site locations on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 3:00 PM EST.  The site locations are 50 East Main Street and 58A East Main Street, Statesboro, GA 30458.

     

    The City of Statesboro is soliciting bids from experienced and qualified General Contractors who are interested in submitting a proposal and entering into a contract for the renovations.

     

    1. The Joe Brannen Hall consists of renovating approximately 5,600 SF of general office space. This renovation includes offices, restrooms, reworking a sprinkler system and minor roof repair. Contractors are expected to coordinate their work schedule with the project manager to minimize impacts to active offices.
    2. City Hall consists of light renovations of approximately 2,650 SF of the three story city hall building which includes: relocating and patching walls, adding doors for security, replacing plumbing fixtures, miscellaneous painting, flooring and ceiling tile replacement.  Contractors are expected to coordinate their work schedule with the project manager to minimize impacts to active offices.

     

    Bid packages will be available Monday, August 15, 2022 at the Central Services Department (22 West Grady Street, Statesboro, GA 30458).  Bid packages may also be available at the mandatory pre-bid site on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 3:00 p.m.
