Statesboro Area Transit
At Statesboro Area Transit, our mission is to get you where you want to go! With over 30 stops around the city, Statesboro Area Transit provides greater access to shopping, healthcare, community events, and much more. It’s easy, quick, safe, and affordable. Statesboro Area Transit is operated by the Coastal Regional Commission of Georgia.
The transit system will feature two fixed routes, a Blue and Red route with two buses assigned to each route. Click HERE to view the route map.
A bus shelter located in the city’s public parking lot on South College Street in Downtown Statesboro will serve as a transfer station where riders can transfer from one route to another. There is no cost for transferring. Riders will be given a transfer ticket from their bus driver to present when boarding the new bus route.
Statesboro Area Transit passengers can now plan their bus trip via Google Maps! Get step-by-step transit directions in your web browser or on your mobile phone (download Google maps for your phone at m.google.com/maps) and enter the specifics of your trip. Enter your origin and final destination addresses, the time you’re likely to leave/arrive, and the day of your trip. Information will display which tells you how to get from point A to point B via Statesboro Area Transit including any walking and transferring between buses. We hope that our passengers enjoy this new feature from SAT.
Things to Consider when Using Google Maps…
Please click the “Show options” link underneath the your entered destination in Google Maps and choose PREFER “Less Walking” instead of “Best Route” within the drop down boxes. This will allow a more direct route via bus than the “Best Route” option. “Best Route” is not necessarily the “most direct route” for transit trips.
Statesboro Area Transit offers riders the option to schedule a pickup from their desired location with 24 hours notice. The pickup location must be within ¼ mile of the set Blue and Red routes.
