FEMA announces declaration # FEMA-4284-DR for individual assistance and public assistance for Bulloch County. The City of Statesboro Department of Public Works and Engineering staff have been working with the Bulloch County Emergency Management Agency and representatives of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to determine eligibility of Bulloch County homeowners to receive individual assistance and for local government eligibility for public assistance for damages incurred from Hurricane Matthew.
City staff, County staff and FEMA representatives met Friday, October 14 to beginqualification applications then worked together to perform field inspections on Saturday, October 15 of homes and structures damaged by Hurricane Matthew. From those inspections FEMA has determined that property damages were significant enough to qualify Bulloch County residents to meet community wide eligibility requirements for FEMA financial assistance. Residents who are interested in applying to receive federal assistance for damages received from Hurricane Matthew can pre-register with FEMA at 1-800-621-3362.
